BACK TO SCHOOL GIVE AWAY 2026

 August 1st was a successful BACK 2 SCHOOL backpack & supplies giveaway, thanks to Embracing Children & Empowering Families. E.C.E.F. teamed up with Mikki's Speakeasy Restaurant & Grill allowing vendors & non-profits help families prepare for the 2026/27 school year.  This year presents challenges with school closures & Broward County upgrading curriculum.  Help this unique school term meet these new challenges, go beyond expectations, and embrace our new horizons! 

why we need your donations? .... 1. Timing.

Each school year that passes is another opportunity lost.     For instance, AI is unavoidably the future and is dependent upon text datasets for language understanding.  Additionally, AI needs support for labeling data for accuracy, and more.   

Why now?

Now is the time to support education through scholarships for students who apply themselves to literacy skills and demonstrate an effort to...

1. read

2. research

3. are driven to explore natural habitat and cultural anthropology, important for AI's immediate industry.

AI is contingent on these skills. Future careers will demand datasets that provide information access, such as academic/scientific content from your child's research papers.  

Enrich a student's learning through journaling stories so they can...

1. develop tactical comprehension skills

2. understand the language applied. 


It has been shown that literacy bridges a student's story to their personal experience, gaining enrichment through that story.

    This can be done as a school trip and class project, or a Back-To-School Essay Challenge about how they spent their summer staycation with family and/or friends.
